If it sits wrong in your theme
The app only adds something to your store if you turn on the “Accessibility fixes” embed: a focus outline, underlined links in text and reduced motion, as plain CSS. If the outline colour clashes or a link looks wrong, change the colour in the theme editor (Online Store → Customize → App embeds), or send us a screenshot and the page address, and we fix it for your theme.
Common questions
What does the scan check?
Your published theme in a real browser: the home page, a product, the cart and, on Pro, a collection, a page, search and up to 4 pages you pick. It uses axe-core’s WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules plus checks of its own (visible keyboard focus, keyboard order, form errors), and reads every product photo and description for alt text, empty links and headings.
Does it make my store compliant?
No tool can promise that. An automatic scan finds many problems, not all of them, and the app lists what to check by hand. It’s a tool to find and fix problems, not legal advice.
Do I need this? I’m a small shop.
Micro-enterprises (fewer than 10 people and at most €2 million turnover) are exempt from the European Accessibility Act for their services. An accessible shop still sells to more people.
Will it change my theme?
Never by itself. Theme problems come with where and how to fix them. The optional “Accessibility fixes” embed adds a visible focus outline, underlined links or reduced motion, only when you turn it on in the theme editor.
What does it change when I click a fix?
Only your own data: an image’s alt text, or a product description’s empty links and headings. You see the change first, and you can undo it for 30 days.
My store has a password page.
Add the store password in Settings so the scan’s browser can open your store.
What happens if I remove the app?
Scans stop at once. Fixes you made stay in your store: they are your own alt texts and descriptions. The theme embed goes away with the app. Your scan history is deleted 48 hours later.
What does it cost?
The scan of three pages, the alt-text check and the statement are free. Pro adds every kind of page, the weekly scan, one-click fixes, the history and the printable report. One flat price, never by visits or views. Development stores get Pro free.
